There was a time in my life when I found myself in one of the darkest places I had ever known. It felt as if I had fallen into a deep pit—one filled with discouragement, self-pity, and uncertainty. I had no clear expectations for myself, no real goals that I believed I could reach. I was deeply hurt, carrying the heavy weight of rejection, and I had no idea what my next step in life would be. More than anything, I didn’t know how I was going to climb out of that pit.
You see, when you’re surrounded by darkness, it becomes almost impossible to see a way out. Darkness blinds you. It blinds you to truth. It blinds you to the love that others have for you. It convinces you to isolate yourself—to withdraw from people, to stop feeling, to stop hoping. Darkness builds walls around your heart and keeps you trapped in a place that feels impossible to escape.
That was the place I was in.
But then Christ stepped in.
The beautiful—and humbling—truth is that Christ didn’t just suddenly arrive in that moment. He had been there the entire time. The problem wasn’t His absence; it was that my heart wasn’t open enough to recognize His presence.
Scripture reminds us of this powerful promise: that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Even when we feel alone, even when we are lost in darkness, He is still there—waiting patiently for us to see Him, to trust Him, and to let His light guide us out.
Will you take the chance of allowing Jesus Christ to step in?
