Have you ever found yourself asking the question, “Why me?”
Why am I going through this? Why does this feel so hard?
I have asked those same questions. Yet, through my journey with the Lord, I have come to understand something that has brought both clarity and comfort—I belong to Him. And everything I experience, every season I walk through, is shaping me into His likeness.
God is never caught off guard by our lives. He is not surprised by our struggles, our missteps, or even our questions. He already knows all of it, and still, He desires a close and intimate relationship with us. Scripture reminds us that Jesus prayed to the Father, asking that we would be made one with Him, just as He is one with the Father (see John 17). That prayer alone reveals God’s heart toward us—His desire for unity, intimacy, and transformation.
Every experience, every trial, and every moment of growth is part of the process of becoming more like Jesus Christ. Even the difficult moments are not wasted. They are shaping us, refining us, and drawing us closer to Him.
The prophet Isaiah reminds us of this powerful truth:
“Yet, O Lord, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are our potter; we are all the work of Your hand.”
— Isaiah 64:8
I remember praying and asking the Lord to make me more like Him—to shape me into who I was created to be. What I didn’t fully understand at the time was that transformation is not always comfortable. Being molded requires pressure. Being shaped requires surrender. And becoming more like Christ is a continual process.
Even now, I am still being developed—still growing, still learning, still allowing God to work in me and through me. The Potter is not finished yet.
So, if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and find yourself wondering why you are experiencing certain things, it may be that the Potter is at work in your life. Resist the urge to pull away. Instead, yield. Trust His hands. Allow Him to mold and shape you according to His will, so that your life may bring Him glory.
What He is forming in you is worth the process. I am a living witness.
