A Life Fully Surrendered to Christ: Choosing Surrender on the Hard Days

Living a surrendered life—living fully for God—is not always easy or pain-free. There are days when obedience feels heavy, when surrender requires more strength than we think we have. Today is one of those days for me. I find myself emotional, carrying the weight of circumstances I am walking through.

The Word of God reminds us that following Christ does not exempt us from tribulation, heartache, or seasons of lack. Yet those moments do not mean that the Lord Jesus has stepped away from us. On the contrary, He is closest in the difficult seasons.

“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
—John 16:33

Even when the day feels dreary and my heart feels heavy, I choose to stand firm on the promises God has spoken. I am confident that I will still see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

“I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”
—Psalm 27:13

Feelings shift. Emotions rise and fall. But God remains faithful—always. He has been faithful even in moments when I have not been. That truth anchors me when everything else feels uncertain.

So today, I choose surrender. I choose to be guided by His Word rather than my emotions.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
—Psalm 119:105

God’s Word provides direction when the way feels unclear and light when the path feels dark. It reminds me that rest and peace are found not in having all the answers, but in placing everything into His hands.

If you’re feeling weary, overwhelmed, or weighed down today, I encourage you to turn it over to the Lord. Lay it at His feet. Allow Him to carry what you were never meant to hold alone.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
—Matthew 11:28

Surrender may not remove the struggle immediately, but it will bring peace in the midst of it. And that peace is enough to carry us through.

Stay tuned as we continue exploring what it truly means to live a life fully surrendered to Christ.
