Day 5: Rising from the Dark Place
Finding strength through prayer and crying out to God
“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.”
— Psalm 34:17 (NKJV)
During my season of hopelessness—when I was in bondage and crippled by my emotions, my thoughts, and even my walk with the Lord—I cried out a lot. Those cries came from a very dark place. A place of confusion, frustration, and deep pain.
Then one day, I cried out differently. I prayed and asked the Lord God to please help me—not with a perfect prayer, but with a sincere heart.
We never truly know what God is doing behind the scenes while we wait, pray, and endure. But one morning, when I woke up, I knew something had shifted. Something had been lifted. The circumstances hadn’t all changed, but I had.
That’s how God works. He often begins His healing within us before we see it around us.
God hears every cry—even the ones whispered in the dark. Stay tuned for Day 6 of our 7 Days of Rising to Hope journey.
