Series Title: 7 Days of Rising to Hope

Day 1: Rising When You’ve Done All You Can

Acknowledging exhaustion, surrender, and the need for God

Scripture:
Luke 13:10–17

Have you ever felt like you have done all that you can in a situation or problem—and there is nothing left to give? Me too.

There was a time when I felt like I was holding on to my faith, my trust, and my hope in God by a single thread. I was exhausted, discouraged, and ready to throw in the towel. I questioned everything—my purpose, my direction, and even whether God was still listening.

My story closely mirrors the story of the crippled woman found in Luke 13:10–17. She had been bound for 18 years, unable to stand upright. While the story speaks of physical healing, it also reveals something much deeper—a spiritual and emotional bondage that many of us experience.

Her permanently bent posture symbolized more than a physical condition. It represented a life weighed down—by disappointment, by hopelessness, and by an inability to see beyond her pain. When you’ve been bound long enough, it becomes easy to believe that things will never change.

And sometimes, that’s exactly where we find ourselves—doing everything we know how to do yet still feeling stuck.
